The Caritamo Foundation is a leading Not-for-profit independant humanitarian organization, created to work either individually or alongside other charitable sector organizations, private sectors and governments in the community. Our first mission is focuses on leading the world to a better understanding of children's rights to which they are entitled under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child that forms the basis of all of our work in Canada and around the world. We help children and their family in urgent medical need, poverty, educational difficulties, violence, conflicts, social injustice, warfare and during the aftermath of natural disasters. We provide, an environment in which their human rights and needs are respected and protected, so they can realize their fullest potential. To achieve this, our programs focus on child rights and protection, health, nutrition, clean water, education, sustainable livelihoods, emergency relief and survival.
Introduction
It has been Twenty-eight years since our volunteers, started our first missions in 1988, offering our services generously with their passionate heart’s and inspired souls. We have been alongside governments, United Nations' related organizations and other charitable and humanitarian organizations.
We became the Caritamo Foundation and as a charity organization, our mission continues by leading the world to better understand children's rights. We help children during warfare and violent conflicts, in the aftermath of natural disasters, and in situations of extreme poverty and social injustice. We provide them an environment in which their human rights and needs are respected and protected, so they can realize their fullest potential. To achieve this, our program, focuses on child rights and protection, health and nutrition, clean water, education, sustainable livelihoods, emergency relief and survival.
Volunteer Program
The Caritamo Foundation acts as a volunteer charity organization that builds caring communities by connecting volunteers to our organization or to the causes that need them. Volunteer centers are your local leaders in community engagement. When you work as a volunteer for Caritamo and related organizations, you are strengthening volunteerism and supporting voluntary organizations across the country in their works to offer social benefits and occasionally remunerations.
Planned-Giving Program
The Caritamo Foundation acts as a "Planned-Giving" organization between donors and children in urgent need. When a child is registered in our programs, we must find donors who support the child's urgent need directly or through other organization. Our "Planned-Giving" Program includes life insurance, recurring monthly support", developing-cure donations, gifts-in-kind, etc. and offers the donor potential income tax benefits and other social benefits.
